Iced Coffee with a Decadent Whipped Cream Froth - from Coffee Life, a blog by EspressoWorks

1. Iced Coffee with a Decadent Whipped Cream Froth

Not only does this drink look absolutely gorgeous, but it’s really easy to make, too! The rich, creamy froth blends perfectly with the bold flavors of iced coffee to create an end result that’s simply indulgent.

Ingredients (for 2 people):

  • Ground coffee (3 tablespoons)
  • Water (1.5 cups)
  • Heavy cream (1/3 cup)
  • Sugar (1 tablespoon)
  • Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
  • Ice (based on preference)

Preparation Method

This recipe is completed in three separate parts. First, let’s brew some iced coffee! Start by using a burr grinder to break down your choice of coffee beans to a medium-fine consistency.

Step 1: Crafting Iced Coffee

Use a Moka Pot or coffee machine to brew your iced coffee. If you’re using a coffee machine, make sure to use a tamper to pack your coffee tightly into the basket for maximum flavor extraction!

Pour your coffee into two glasses filled with as much ice as you please.

Step 2: Fixing Frothy Foam

Mix together your heavy cream, sugar and salt using a frother. This process shouldn't take more than 10-15 seconds. If you do not own a frother, simply put your ingredients into a container and shake for a minute or so until everything is nice and fluffy.

Step 3: Combine Together

Add your frothy foam to your cool coffee. You’ll notice that the froth either floats to the top or makes mesmerizing patterns as it flows down into your coffee.

Mix and enjoy!

Cold Brew Irish Cream Coffee Recipe - from Coffee Life, a blog by EspressoWorks

2. Cold Brew Irish Cream Coffee

For those with a sweet tooth looking for a cool coffee treat, this recipe is sure to satisfy! Blending rich, aromatic coffee with wonderfully decadent Irish cream, this cool coffee creation will energize your body and taste buds, alike!

Ingredients (for large batch)

  • Ground coffee (1 cup)
  • Cold water (4-5 cups)
  • Sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
  • Heavy cream (3/4 cup)
  • Irish cream (1/4 cup)
  • Salt (to taste)

Preparation Method

This recipe is also split into three separate parts. You’ll need to prepare your cold brew coffee first and then the Irish cream, after. The reason this recipe is made in a large batch is because you can store your cold brew coffee in the fridge for up to 2 weeks and your Irish cream for up to 1 week. This way, you can make one large batch at a time and enjoy your cool coffee beverage over several days.

Step 1: Creating Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate

Grind your coffee beans to a medium-fine consistency. You can use a burr grinder for this, or even just use ready coffee.

Combine your coffee grounds and water into a large container. Store it in the fridge overnight so that the coffee flavor is absorbed into the water.

Strain your cold brew coffee concentrate through a sieve and again through a coffee filter, for the best result.

Refrigerate until ready for use.

Step 2: Cook Up Some Irish Cream

Add your heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk and salt to a saucepan and stir gently until the mixture begins to bubble around the edges.

Remove the mixture from the heat and whisk in your Irish cream slowly.

Refrigerate until ready for use.

Step 3: Bringing the Ingredients Together

Combine some of your cold brew coffee concentrate with a little water if you wish to dilute the flavor and then add in as much of your Irish cream as desired.

3. Coffee Lemonade

We’ve saved the most adventurous and fun recipe for last. While this unconventional take on cool coffee may be a little controversial, the end result will speak for itself. Coffee lemonade is closely related to a drink called Mazagran, which is the name of an Algerian fortress where French soldiers used to drink iced coffee with a number of interesting garnishes.

Ingredients (for 3 glasses):

  • Cold brewed / iced coffee (1 cup)
  • Pulpless orange juice (1/2 cup)
  • Fresh lemon juice (1/3 cup)
  • Honey (1/3 cup)
  • Ice cubes (2 cups)

Preparation Method

This recipe is really simple to make. Once you’ve acquired your ingredients, all you need to do is mix them together and you’re done! The perfect quick treat for summer!
